Waiting For Nothing

The first (1/7) picture in my Heroine series which was exhibited in Tampere in May/June 2006. It was printed in size A1 (59,4 cm x 84 cm).

This piece is about the innocence and disengagement of childhood. I've combined lots of elements that I personally like, such as the white rabbit and checkers.. They also refer to the Alice in Wonderland stories (how surprising of me).

The girl posing in the picture is one of my oldest friends who I still keep in contact with. I like using my friends as models for my work, because they are the loveliest creatures on earth, and I want to make their faces last forever. The images get special powers when they have lots of personal feelings in them.

It's a pity that all the details can't be seen very clearly in this size. Anyway there is a castle drawn in the ornaments behind the girl, in case you can't see it.
